Ricky McCoy, kinda inconsistent with get-off and pad level, but aggressive as hell and hates people.

    Where's the beef?

Seriously it just looks a little light on DL. Otherwise I like the looks of the class. I'm sure Petersen will close well in that department. They don't have to be 4* (though that would be OK). Just get some good looking prospects that can add to the depth and competition.

Welcome to the party. I've been beating the drum on our lack of interior DLs for a couple weeks now.

Enough with all the speedy DBs. Balance, please.

Yeah I know you have. I've just been kinda brushing it off as it's early. It's closing in on crunch time now though and the class seems to be about full. I still don't think it's a concern. I'm pretty sure Petersen will recruit a balanced class when it's all said and done. He brought in a nice group of DL last season in limited time, and has had all year to develop a list of guys to recruit from this year. We probably haven't hear of all of them.

They did need to add some speed, offensive playmakers, and depth in the secondary too.

For nt they have Qualls who has 3 years left with rs frosh Gaines and Vea behind him. They are still working on that JC kid Fotu although they may have hit a roadblock with classes. Potato's younger brother and McCoy are also DLs they are working on. As I remember they took a ton of DL guys last year

Can I not edit my original post to add to it? I want my $10.95 back.

Meant to add Benning Potoae on there as well. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/703900/highlights/198800378

Benning looks a lot more like Kikahaha than his brother Potato.

The interior players on DL for this class are going to be Potatoe, potentially Kevin Scott (hopefully) and Ricky "Predator" McCoy.

This class is thinner on the DL, but we did take 6 kids last year: McGary, Bowman, Stringf Johnson, Gaines, Dissly, and Vea.

It sounds like McGary did make the switch to OL based on all the rumors/speculation, so that leaves us with 5 last year and 3 this year. If we get Potoae, then it'll be equal to what we recruited last year before Vea's addition in the offseason and McGary's switch.

Interesting - Potatoe and Predator are less than 10 pounds apart, at least according to the internet (which is never inaccurate).

Well, when I say interior—I mean guys who could play 3-tech. There's no Nose in this group, but we got 2 last year.
  • PassionPassion Member Posts: 4,622
Actually, I was agreeing with you. If Potatoe is already 265 in high school, adding another 20 is doable. Easily a 3T.

I thought they looked pretty similar, but Potoae is better.

Had not seen Potatoe's film before. Needs to be said that he is different than his brother, MUCH much much quicker, more of a true position on the field for him as a Buck or true DE compared to his brother who was a bit of a tweener.
