A local product who could surprise fans in the coming years was Skyline High School's Cooper Pelluer. He had 77 tackles and 10 sacks in 2009, helping the Spartans to a 4A state championship. At 6-foot-3 and over 220-pounds, Pelluer has quality speed and could end up being a diamond in the rough.

I also remember Doogs getting all pumped about landing Pelluer which I could never understand.

Taking Pelluer over Scott Crichton was a terrible move. Pelluer's best offer was from Hawaii, Crichton had an offer from Oregon, Oregon State, and WSU.

Crichton played for a high school that has typically been the worst in their league and made them a winning team. He won defensive MVP of the league as well. When a guy is 30 miles away, you should be very familiar with him.
