I remember back in college professors claiming about how we would run out of oil by the year 2012, the average temperature would rise a zillion degrees due to greenhouse gases, and one specifically even started crying because his kids would grow up not knowing what a glacier would look like because they would all be gone and California would be fucked because of it. I remember watching some alarmist documentary on peak oil in the spring of '08 on one of the public access channels that allows anything to be on air. Obviously it hasn't happened.
