It took Andy until 2007 to turn on Willingham when Ty failed to wave to or acknowledge him at the Syracuse game. He turned on Petersen before he ever coached a game at UW. I'm not saying this is a sign that Petersen is way worse then Ty so don't go twisting. I'm just asking the question. Fans should be asking questions especially when their new coach has so many similarities to someone that's way worse than Ty...again, don't go twisting.
Yes, but Race swooned for Ty when he shook his hand.
He was impressive. Has a presence. It was never about hating him with me. He just sucked as a coach.
My critics always say I should have TOLD HIM TO HIS FACE
But I'm too classy for that and he had just been hired.

I thought he sucked and was a corny dude when I met him. And that was during his first year so I didn't even hate him yet.
I remember when Race Bannon himself proclaimed "something special" was happening with UW Football after the Huskies beat the 20th-ranked Boise State Broncos and whoever their coach was in Week 2 of Willingham's third season in 2007.
Ty supported Race's proclamation by going 2-22 before, ahem, retiring.
Something special indeed.
(Full disclosure: I, too, thought we had turned the corner after that Boise State victory).

How about my love letter to Jack Lockner after the Syracuse game?
