Some sites have him as 4*. Others a 5*. I understand that a Husky fan watching CoachPeeth recruit probably has no idea what that means, what with the MWC players CoachBleach is bringing in to UW.

You are correct, we have no idea what that looks like.
Is that the guy who made the worst decision of his life by going to Boise West instead of Eugene? He'd be sitting on the bench at UO, so it was probably a good decision for him when CoachBleach told him he'd start no matter what. I'm guessing he'll get to know El Paso and Las Vegas well in his time at UW, as well as a few losses at Autzen.
Way to keep the local kid in town. That takes effort.
It's well documented Slingblade is a very good recruiter on paper. We'll see how it starts to pan out next year.
He's no David Shaw, and certainly no Jim Mora.
"Next year." Meanwhile, the Ducks control their own path to the playoffs at this point. Crushing two Top Seven defenses is some damned good coaching, considering SlingBlade is such a disaster as a coach.
1. No one ever said Slingblade couldn't recruit. In fact that's about the only aspect he's better than the previous guy in, his biggest detractors will admit that 2. It's Nov 2, who gives a fuck about recruiting 3. Stanford is horrible this year. If Helfrich can beat Utah and win the Pac 12 ccg (making the playoff), I will buy in with a 100% quook boner. Maybe the Zona loss helped the team/staff turn a corner. From what I've been reading, seems like a lot of the players are finally seeing the correlation in results between how they practice and how they play. Sloppy practices was the biggest difference between the Chip regime and Helfrich's. LIFPO

Life is slightly easier when you inherit the best player in program history who happens to be the signal caller. Next year will be a team dominated by his recruits developed under his system. If they are great then we have something. If they are 8-4 then we know we don't have something.

Do you actually "inherit" the player if you were the primary recruiter for him? CoachPeeth "inherited" Shaq Thompson; Slingblade discovered Mariota.
I wouldn't expect you to understand this, though, Wile E Thyroidster.
nobody, unless you count krisvashon or Oregondawg, who are both clinically retarded, ever said Helf couldn't recruit.
it's the coaching part that's in question.
He shit-stomped CoachPeeth, Mora, Dantoni, and Shaw so far this year, and the team is improving. I'll take that, if that means he's a bad coach. I also missed all the national titles Harbaugh and Shaw won with Andrew Luck. Mosster47, his thyroid condition, AZDuck (who has disappeared once Oregon started winning) and a few others think it's some sort of revelation that the Ducks may not be as good next year without Mariota. Well, no shit, Sherlocks. These are the same clowns saying this year would be a disaster because of Helfrich.
