That is the feel good story of the decade. Deserves an article quote:
A brawl on the field has forced two Valley high schools to forfeit their final football games of the season.
The beef centered around a special needs player, Vincent Stover, who is autistic and on the Mountain Ridge football team.
After a good lead Thursday night against North Canyon High School, the coach put Vincent in the game on defense.
A video clip of the game shows North Canyon hike the ball and Vincent gets tackled into his own end zone.
"The tight end pushed me so hard I fell to the ground," Vincent recalls.
One of his teammates saw the tackle and took off after the other player.
Vincent said both benches cleared after that.
"I didn't know what was going on, I looked back, and a fight happened," he said.
Vincent’s mom, Terrie Silva, said she understands young hormones can get the best of teenagers, especially if their team is losing, but she says the whole incident is unacceptable.
"There's no excuse to take it out on a player whether he has what he has or not," Silva said.
Silva said the other coaches know Vincent is a special needs player who has been on the team for three years. -
Looks like a good block to me.. if the kid can't hang, he shouldn't be on the field.
-
The other team was not actually informed the special needs kid was playing, let alone on the field. I bet he could have been blocked less humiliatingly if the they had reached out to their opponents.
-
On the other hand, why treat the kid any differently than the other kids?Mad_Son said:The other team was not actually informed the special needs kid was playing, let alone on the field. I bet he could have been blocked less humiliatingly if the they had reached out to their opponents.

The whole thing is a black eye for societal evolution.

Seems that they gave the retard a taste of running a real play vs patronizing him with some fake bullshit. Now that he knows what a real play is like hopefully that puts an end to his football playing fantasy. People should be applauding they gave him a real experience.

Except for the kid who actually did the blocking.DerekJohnson said:The whole thing is a black eye for societal evolution.

And how humiliating and unsportsmanlike for a coach to basically say "we are kicking your ass so bad we are even going to play a retard"
-
I still like the autistic kid that dropped like 20 straight threes that one time. I think his name was Morrison or something.
-
I got nothing against retards but it sounds like I'm not the only one tired of hearing feel good stories about their participation in real sporting events. Hey, maybe in grade school, or even middle school, but high school and up
it's lame. Give it up already.
