The last time they were in the top ten, they ended up losing a bunch of games at the end of the year, fell out of the top 25, ended up losing to the same teams at the beginning of the next year in a schedule twist, and Stoops was fired.
A review of the SOU schedule and results from 1992-1995 shows a season-ending loss to Linfield, in 1994 but they still play football and the score was 55-42.
I'm just not buying it, yet. I think they played well and caught Oregon at the right time. The rest of their games this season don't make me believe they are a top 15 team. I don't think Oregon is either, at least not while their OL and LB situation is so shifty.

Go back further. Small college football ended before REAL college football was invented in 1994.

Except for our OFFICIAL Pac-12 rankings.
That being said- they are 3/3.5 point underdogs at home to USC this week.
Some people rank by accomplishments.
In a power ranking Arizona is probably somewhere around #25.
By accomplishments they are at least top 3 or 4.
So tenth seems like a fair compromise.
I call shenanigans.
Cal is at #43 and we are at #46, same record but his models say Cal has had the harder schedule so far.
