One game early, as this was Helfraud's 14th game against P5 competition.

If you support Helfraud, you are not a friend of the program. That is all.

Guess who had an identical record this far into being HC at Oregon.

    Chip Kelly.

Chip Kelly took over for "Mediocre Mike." Slingblade took over for Chip Kelly.

In one scenario the guy was on his way to a National Championship game in year two, in the other scenario the other guy probably doesn't even get the gas station bowl he went to the year before.

Yep, Kelly peaked while still having Bellotti's players. The program has regressed since 2010.

I would say 2011, but yeah it's been scaling back.

2012 Oregon>>>2010 Oregon. Except their 2010 Cal performance was v Stanford instead of at fuckin Tedford. A game between those teams wouldn't have been close, though.

Oregon in 2012 lost at home to Stanford. That team was not better, because they lost at home in a late season game, and it cost them a chance to play Notre Dame. Chip got outcoached by Shaw, and then he ran out of Eugene for NFL money.

    Stupid Quook.

Oregon played ONE team that finished in the top 25 before the national championship game.

Then they lost on a final FG to the #1 team in the country. No Oregon team can say that, although Joey's team in 2001 got hosed, and should have played Miami instead of Nebraska playing the Canes in that Rose Bowl. Beating Kansas State in a Fiesta Bowl is nice, but the offense did struggle in that game, too, and only scored 27 points. DAT's KR return doesn't count.

The only time Oregon has ever had a defense capable of winning it all was in 2010 and they still couldn't. 2009-2012 is for sure the "Golden Era" of Duck football.

It will probably be decades before they have a run like that again. Mark Helfrich certainly won't be at the helm of it.

A Doog fan would know all about being plungered by Oregon.

Boobs is right. Oregon had a very good team that year, but Miami would have destroyed them. That Miami team had 17 players drafted in the first round of the NFL draft, it was one of the greatest college football teams of all time.

By the way, Kansas State? What is it with you quooks not knowing your own history? It's short, there's not that much to remember. :-)

    2013 Fiesta=Kansas State
    2002 Fiesta=Colorado

Also, saying "we wanted our shot at Miami!" is the easiest way to identify a quook. Be happy with our win over an overrated as fuck Colorado team...Miami would have rolled us by 3 tds (Miami would have rolled anyone by 3 tds, that was the best team in cfball history).

And yes, 2012 Oregon>2010. As pointed out in this thread, 2010 Oregon played absolutely no one prior to Auburn. They got lucky because their one shit performance of the year was against an awful Cal team with dead man walking as head coach. 2012 Oregon's one shit performance came against a top 5 team (of which there wasn't one on 2010 Oregon's schedule).

Also, PDX using a home loss to a top 5 Stanford team in 2012 as a disqualifier, while heaping praises on the 2001 Oregon team that LOST AT HOME TO A SHIT STANFORD TEAM COACHED BY FUCKING TYRONE WILLINGHAM is one of the worst arguments I've seen.

Oregon played Kansas State in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl, which is what I posted.

Ancient history would be the last time UDub played in the Rose Bowl...
