I'm not condoning anything about duck football tonight, but it's gotten a little ridiculous when you penalize a guy for bowing after a play. Fucking bowing. Ridiculous.
I was expecting you to come on here making excuses and blaming the refs.
Could have sworn the announcers said he ran to midfield and then bowed. If so, then the bow is irrelevant as the penalty would be for running to midfield to taunt. Or is that the NFL? Terrell Owens rule?
both the taunt against Arizona and Oregon were unnecessary calls, but as mentioned earlier, at least it's consistent... in a universe of bad reffing. The other thing I noticed is that Jack Lockner was the recipient of a couple bad calls that seem to not matter nowadays... when he threw a drive-sustaining 3rd and long pass at Hawaii he was called for being over the line of scrimmage (it was actually only the fully extended throwing hand as it released the ball that was barely across the LOS), but these days the QBs are a good 2-3 feet over the LOS and not called... I'm guessing the rule must have changed on that. The other one is where Jack got the penalty for end zone celebration by throwing the ball up in the air against BYU but where there's no taunting I see guys zipping the ball around and making excessive celebrations way more entertaining than Jack's vertical ball flip.
Yes, Oregon probably shouldn't have been flagged for that. BUT, it was a dumb dumb move to bait the ref like that. Never put it into a Pac-12 ref judgement call. He danced his ass 30 yards from the play and bowed to the crowd at midfield.
In hindsight, he probably could have "gotten away" with it had he not orchestrated it and ran 30 yards onto the field. I didn't see the Arizona guy get called.
There's some kind of happy medium between all the Miami trash in the 80s and acting like it's 1955.

Miami took it the furthest, but it was just CFB. Go watch the early 90's UW footage, those guys pop off after every hit, every catch.

Uh, but for that penalty, the Cats just kick the game-winning FG from the 19.
