An Upstate high school teacher is accused of sexual battery after flirting on Facetime led to sexual encounters with a 16-year-old boy in October 2014, according to police incident reports.
Duncan police said they were tipped off that Alexandra McClure, who teaches Spanish at Byrnes High School, was sexually involved with a student.
The school is in Lyman police jurisdiction, and they called in the 16-year-old for an interview. They said the teen told them he flirted with McClure when he was in her Spanish class. He said he left his number on her desk, and she texted him a few days later. He said they then connected on Facebook, and he took a screenshot of her topless.
The teen said McClure texted him on the night of the Byrnes-J.L. Mann football game to come to her house. He said when he did, she performed a sex act on him. He said there were two other similar sexual encounters.

Nevertheless, the principal at the school where she taught — and a lawyer representing the school — told Carla that several irate parents had complained. They convinced her to sign a resignation.
