    Te’o-Nesheim -- Jamora
    Ta’amu -- Shelton
    Elisara -- Gaines/Qualls, lipo
    Jones -- Te'o Nesheim
    Savannah -- Shaq
    Butler starts
    Foster starts
    Aiyewa starts
    Fellner -- Baker
    Trufant starts
    Richardson -- Peters

So 5/11? Not a drastic difference.

Even without a top tier running back? Sark had locker and Polk.

Washington and Coleman will never be Polk/Sankey level backs. But they're good enough to win with. They certainly weren't the problem yesterday.
Polk and Sankey were two of the best backs in UW history. Even with shitty lines. They gave the offense something defenses had to always fear and respect. Coleman and Washington types are on the two and three deeps of every team in the pac 12.
Agree, not crazy about Coleman behind this line.
Jamora over Nesheim is debatable. Others seem right.

Edit : nevermind. I see what you did. Makes sense

Sark went to a team stocked with 5 star offensive lineman in USC.

Peterman went to a team with barely enough 2 star offensive lineman to field a team.

This team is more talented than what Sark inherited IMHO. But Sark had a huge advantage in Lockner.

As much as I hate Lockner, he was better from day 1 than Miley or Lindquist will ever be.

If Lockner was on this team it wouldn't be 10 wins it would final four playoffs or gtfo.

Even without a top tier running back? Sark had locker and Polk.
Eh running back is replaceable. But after looking at the lineups you posted I'm probably wrong.

Sark left this team in far better shape than when he took over.

Some of you blowhards--aheem---Aubs thought this was a natty squad waiting to happen with our new BBryant Coach.

The reality is girls, we are pretenders, not contenders. Weare really screwed next year when Danny Shaq and MPete leave.

sorry the young 4 stars on this team, save John Ross aint difference makers. There might be some linemen among the young kids but remember no Ivan to make them road graders and war daddies.

We need some trickery and skullduggry to keep the facade going to get some talent in for Pete to mold (Which I think he'll do)

    What say yous?

Same question, who inherited more talent? Petersen from the great recruiter (everyone says so) or Sark from the worst coach in UW history?

2009 defense. Who do you replace with yesterday's starters?
    Te’o-Nesheim
    Ta’amu
    Elisara
    Jones
    Savannah
    Butler
    Foster
    Aiyewa
    Fellner
    Trufant
    Richardson

I'll take Te'o over Andrew Hudson, Butler over Timu, Foster over Feeney, and Trufant over Jones or whoever our 2nd corner is.

I say that you contradicted the shit outta yourself and made no sense. Did Sark leave us in better shape than when he got here, or did he leave us with a bunch of highly rated turds? Which is it? Also, fuck off for trying to lump AuburnDoog in with us.

Here is the 2009 starting O. Who to you trade out for yesterday's starting offense?

    Locker starts
    Polk starts
    Aguilar starts
    Schaefer/Ossi (lol) -- hatchie
    Christine/Wood lol
    Kelemete starts
    Habban either/or coleman shelton
    Middleton -- probably starts, fuck
    Johnson -- Ross
    Kearse starts (campbell/hall jr)

6/11 of Ty's recruits would start, including all skill players except for Ross. Total clusterfuck.

Petersen recruited Baker so does he really count? Budda would be a duck or bruin if Sark stayed. I thought we were comparing Sark and Peterman by the players they each inherited.

True. But by the same logic, you need to take the best player -- Trufant -- off the '09 defense.
  • doogsinparadisedoogsinparadise Member Posts: 9,320

I think the consensus is the person regarded as the worst coach in UW history left about as much talent to the guy who was the great recruiter as the great recruiter left to the next guy. Fuck that narrative and anyone who buys into it with a rusty conical cheese grater. My whole point is I am not down on Petersen, but just pointing out he has just as difficult a task as sark had.

That actually compliments Sark's schematic ability, while taking a blowtorch to his developmental ability. But then again we already knew that.

The depth of the team now is much better. Top level talent is close. In '09, the talent at QB, RB, and WR was better. Locker > Miles. Polk is easily better than any RB we have. Kearse, James Johnson, Aguillar, and Goodwin are better than Kasen, Mickens, Campbell, and Ross. Ross is a weapon becuase of his speed, but he hasn't shown that much as a WR. The OL is better now, but neither one is good.

The DL now is a lot better. Talia Crichton started as a freshman. The 2009 LB's starters are probably slightly better, but they had no depth at all. The secondary now is a lot better. The '09 secondary was terrible. I would rather have this year's roster, but the fact that it is a debate is kind of pathetic.

I'm worried Ross will be a Devin Hester/tedd Ginn type that only gives us action in the return game, but not as a receiver
