I was thinking the same thing when he went under center and screwed up... that the Huskies have been running every offensive play from the shotgun and the QBs are out of practice lining up under the center. They need more reps under center if they're going to run such a play.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:
My thoughts exactly. I don't know that he took a snap under center before that and then to get up there and rush it like that was MileyCyrusFS.PurpleBaze said:
Miles rushed that snap, too. He had plenty of time on the play clock to line up and take his time. I'm not sure if he was trying to catch the Stanford D off-guard, but that wasn't going to happen. He panicked for the 1000th time in the game and fucked up that play. I liked the call to go for it in that situation, but the execution definitely left a lot to be desired.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:
Lundquest botched that snap and then in the 2nd half Miley goes under center on a 4th and 1, bobbles the snap and doesn't pick up the 1st down.PurpleBaze said:
It was not a block. It was a botched snap, which the Mad Swede panicked on, picked up, and tried to run it up the middle. It actually looked like he had enough time to try to pick it off the turf and place it for a successful PAT, as Stanford didn't have much of a rush on that particular attempt.Disciple_2_Hole said:
Really? We would have had a 14-13 lead with the ball at midfield. The 4th down punt pins them deep and having the one point lead Peterman had no reason to risk field position with the way our D was playing. It's clear he didn't have much confidence in the O but we have to give Stanford credit for their D getting the hand on that kick. IMO that block was the huge play.MelloDawg said:Meh, I'm not sold that a made extra poont would have changed the complexion of the game that much. Miles didn't have it all game, whether it was because he moved around too much or missed targets, and that's why we lost.
2 center-QB exchanges in a tight game make a huge impact. -

Agree on Petersen learning from his mistakes, unlike Sark.
As for big receivers, it would have been nice to have Stringfellowon the roster. He and Miles may have had that QB/WR chemistry that you need sometimes (insert beating up the 12FS joke here).
I'm really disappointed about Kasen Williams. He's still hurting. He could be put in jump-ball situations against smaller CBs, but you have to have a QB who can throw those type of passes.
I still can't believe how shitty the QB situation is.
I saw him out there
