Think I have that issue - my posse used to obtain the Playboys by all means necessary. They would then become community property up in the treehouse

    Chuck Fucking Nelson

For you kids out there, that is fucking pain. Losing to the Cuogs to miss a Rose Bowl trip

One of the many times Don James should have been fired at the 50 yard line.

Maybe that's why I'm not as pissed today. Jaded with a fair amount of scar tissue. I hope we play games that matter that much again.

    Same here. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Dan Marino made his first start as a collegian at Husky Stadium and led the Pitt Panthers to a win

Would you have fired Don James at the 50?

Who knew Michael Cage played football for Oklahoma?

While the Walker signing was the most important for the USFL, people forget that Anthony Carter and his ripaway jersey signing the next day was the second most important signing.

That 1979 team rivals only 1990 as our most under appreciated ever. I think the two teams that beat us had 1 combined loss. James and Lambo with a month to prepare literally changed college football forever by figuring how to break Texas' bone.

    Well said. Classy post

1979 was when I realized we could be somebody. The game at Husky Stadium against national champion to be USC was awesome. 24-17 moral victory. Vince somebody from Tacoma running wild

I think Marino was the punter (seriously) and the backup QB.

Anthony Allen had a 99 yard TD kickoff return.

He may not have started but he played and won the job with the win. Kind of hazy

UW trailed 24-17, Mark Lee appeared to have returned another punt for a TD, but refs said he stepped out at the 21 yard line. UW then had the ball 1st and goal at USC's 2 yard line with 4:00 left. Trojans shoved Tom Flick and the Huskies back to the 12, to preserve their Rose Bowl berth.

Tom Flick gave a Matt Foley-like speech at my high school in the early 90's. Very inspiring.

I had managed to forget that. Thanks for bringing back the pain. That was when I said to my self we can stand toe to toe with these fuckers.

If you grew up watching John McKay bitch slap the Huskies you would know what it meant to beat USC

Sounds like Oregon football before college football was invented in 1994.
