Kasen Williams not an OKG?

and
“But,” he added, “I think that (it’s) the play calls as well. I’m not hating on anybody because we’re winning every game and we’re putting up 45 points every game, so it’s hard to be mad over that. But, you know … we do run the ball a lot.”
Ummm... Hey Kasen, how about you get some separation from the DBs? Hell, he had trouble creating any type of space between him and the DBs from GSU for fucks sake!! I can only imagine what's going to happen once Kasen goes up against some better competition. Admittedly, Miley's noted struggles with his decision making aren't making thing easy but that doesn't keep KW from doing his job of (gasp) actually getting open!

Oh btw... FUCK OFF Jude!!!

Doesn't he have a touchdown in this last game and a one-handed grab against Eastern? He needs to shut his twat up.
-
He was pretty good before the injury but couldn't get separation very well then. Now he is slower and just not that good.
-
WTF'd for bashing the kids.
Not very classy. -
Kasen was slow before the injury and now he is fucking slow
Hey Kasen, go play running back in the fucking AFL or something. Try getting open, I hear it helps.
-
Maybe so... But I'll keep doing it until soft, self-entitled Sark types get over themselves and stop whining to reporters in interviews.ThomasFremont said:WTF'd for bashing the kids.

"Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian), and the players there, it's going to be a national championship soon," said Seferian-Jenkins, who picked the Huskies over the University of Texas. "I want to be a part of that, that hometown guy, that local guy to help bring them back up. I think I can do that. I know I can do it. We're going to do it."
instead he just dropped crucial passes -
Ouch.
-
Agreed. 99 pass attempts to 204 runs so far this year. But if the receivers are struggling to get open or Miley isn't seeing/making the reads fast enough, what is the staff supposed to do?ThomasFremont said:He's right though. They do run the ball a lot.

WHy the fuck would Peterman pass a lot with the noodle arm we have back there?
-
If we passed more than we do, we might be sitting at 4-0 right now.
-
Cyrus has a long way to go to be an effective passer, and I think Petersen knows that.
-
The only issue I see with our current run/pass mix is that everyone else knows we are not a huge pass threat right now, and thus stuffing the box (LOL) could become an issue going forward.
-
Why am I not hearing the 12 WRs bitch and moan about not throwing the ball more?
-
Petersen is here to win games. The way to win those games with this team is by running the ball. Making sure guys got stats and running them up in blowouts is what Sark did. This year's offense is not geared for a WR to put up big numbers. Ross is doing his work with limited touches as well. Mickens has caught some balls, but most of those have been short passes and screens. That has never been Kasen's role.
WR's want the ball. I would expect a player who has been a #1 or #2 target who got a lot of targets to be frustrated by not getting the ball. I didn't think Kasen said anything that wasn't true or was that bad, but he probably shouldn't have made those comments to the media. -
Agree, but I will add that I haven't had the sense that he's working extremely hard to create separation and help Miles out. Either that or his injury was so bad that he's a mere shell of his former self.RoadDawg55 said:Petersen is here to win games. The way to win those games with this team is by running the ball. Pretty sure that this HOFer was complaining in 1972 and 1973 about not getting enough touches.

Quite honestly, the sooner we can get rid of Sark players the better in my mind.

Jude said in his blog this morning that he didn't think Williams was complaining, just telling it like it is

They should move Kasen to WR.
-
You guys are really reading too much into this. I suggest reading the article. He didn't say anything that bad. Pretty much a non story. The article was about needing to get more out of the passing game, which does need to happen.

He's obviously worried about his stats and is blaming Peterman for not throwing the ball more his way.
Newsflash Kasen, Sark is GONE and he ain't coming back... but if you really are worth a shit, maybe you can sign a FA deal with the Seahawks and take Kearse's spot on the roster -
I wasn't being critical of Kasen from the standpoint of the quote because without reading the story I'm assuming that there was some amount of it being taken out of context. I also saw Jood was making a big point this morning to point out that the offense with over 400 yards per game was last in the conference. Not super concerned about that either.
This isn't going to be the most dynamic of passing offenses, but it doesn't need to be. What it needs to be is able to cause enough pain to the opposition when they are trying to stack the box against the run. This offense will be one that is trying to put itself in favorable down/distance situations. It will do well in 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 2. It will do poorly in 2nd and 12 and 3rd and 8. That's just the way it will be.
What it needs from the WRs is the following:
1) John Ross to be a thread to hurt teams both vertically and horizontally
2) Mickens able to continue to grind out yards with the short pass
3) Kasen to be a matchup problem as a big receiver to be able to win the jump ball throws and outlet to throw the ball to in those 3rd and 8's to go win 50/50 throws
4) ALL WRs to be the best collection of blocking WRs in the conference
This won't necessarily be a pretty team this year. We don't have a great QB from the standpoint of throwing the ball but Miles is good enough. In a lot of ways, this kind of resembles the '99 and '00 Tui teams offensively. But that doesn't mean that this isn't a team that can't grind out points. It doesn't mean that it isn't a team that can't/won't play good defense (and I do expect that our DBs will continue to get better as the year progresses). It doesn't mean that this isn't a team that can't play good special teams (which we're starting to see that this team has the ability to win a game this year through it's special teams play). And it doesn't mean that this isn't a team that can't continue to win the turnover battle (which is critical based on the collection of players/talent that we have).
There's a lot of panicking going on ... I'm not really sure that I get it. There are some things to worry about. But there's a lot of adjusting and culture change going on. When punched in the mouth, this team has shown an ability to adjust and respond. That's already a marked improvement over the last 5 years. -
The Sark players that aren't going to buy in I'd agree with ...CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Quite honestly, the sooner we can get rid of Sark players the better in my mind.
Sark players would rather look good and lose than look bad and win = Sidney Deane
Petersen players would rather look bad and win than look good and lose = Billy Hoyle -
Is this a Sark, "quite honestly" woosh? Otherwise, it's a pretty big overreaction. Petersen is going to need the Sark players to play well for him if he wants to win before year 4. They aren't going anywhere and we need to win with the players we have.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Quite honestly, the sooner we can get rid of Sark players the better in my mind.

Shelton is a Sark guy. Can't wait until he LEAVES!!1!
