Echo the comments on Pettis. I'd add that Dissly continues to show. He had a sack missed due to a holding penalty. He blew past the tackle. Think he's a player.
Would have liked more analysis of the Illinois game, you guys got off of that pretty quick. Compare the two RBs. What's Cyler's ceiling? Is Baker improving? Is the team really getting better or is the competition getting that much worse? Things we need to clean up before the real season begins? Daniels seems to be a star in the making at TE. Run/pass ratio is 65:35, do we try to maintain that or will we need to pass more (insert redditFS poster).
The Kim stuff was mostly good but when two of you admit to being paying subscribers to that shithole -- the joke is kind of on you. Why are you still giving them money and what does having that subscription provide you that his lordship biggusdickus doesn't?
The gay porn stuff was dumb and no outside of the most raging of HH nerdvirgins will get the references. Or care.
Nobody pays for doogman. Monday was the first time I had been over there since the Hawaii game. I had been as tired of the dawgman talk as anyone, but it's hard to ignore how FS Kim is. Talking about missing Bishop Sankey and Polk when we are running it better than any Sark team? And when we have good young RB's and the potential of Shaq? It's hard to believe a guy who has followed Husky Football for so long is that stupid.
I agree with Chest's response, although I think corner is just as big of concern as safety, especially in the nickel and dime packages. Right now, in passing situations, Baker moves to nickel and Walker or Beaver comes in at safety. The depth at corner is paper thin and possibly having to depend on Dixon, Hale, and Gardenhire is pretty scary. I am somewhat excited about Jones though. He had a good first start and likes to hit. My early impressions are he is a hard nosed kid who won't be scared or back down. It's only been one start though so who knows if he can actually handle the job. I'm sure there will be some struggles. At safety, I hope Baker and King will improve as the season goes on. King is one of the best athletes on the team, but he needs to stop making mental errors.
I do think the sum of the parts of this team is stronger than any team Sark had. Against Stanford and UCLA we will need the defense to hold them under 21. Against ASU, Arizona, WSU, and Cal (I know, I know) we will probably need the offense to score 35+. Teams with physical front 7's will cause our offense to struggle and teams with good QB's who can throw the ball will tear our defense up. Good dual threat QB's are especially scary. Mariota and probably Kelly will tear us the fuck up. Luckily, the ASU game is at home.
I'm a big Miles guy. I'm amazed every week when someone comments about a shitty throw he's had. He has a weak arm and he's going to throw some wobbly ducks. He can throw the deep ball fine and had already proven that last season. I love him in short yardage situations and near the goal line. He's fucking huge. He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he's mobile. Everything about him signals to him being a leader and a winner. Petersen and the players seem impressed by him and the players made it especially evident how much more they like him than Lindquist. They have different games, but I think he has a lot of similarities to Tui.
You don't know who that chick in the Price is Right gif is?
I didn't realize it the first time, but now that I looked more closely I realize who it is. She had great tits when she was younger. She's twice my age, but I still probably wood hit.

Not true. 1st 3 game comparison to last year:
2013:
157-911-9 TDs 5.8 ypc
2014:
163-775-10 TDs 4.75 ypc
The schedules are comparable:
Boise St (with Coach P) > Hawaii (Hi Norm)
EWU > Idaho St (they actually played in a nice little shootout)
13' Illinois @ home > 14' Illinois on the road
And I have always said Miles is a much bigger threat using the zone/read than KP. Everybody in the stadium knew it was going to Bishop and he still had a monster year.
Personally I think we need to settle into a #1 back (Coleman) and let that guy get into the flow of the game.
The "Sark didn't run the ball" myth has been debunked. But it is a fact that Sark was an idiot play caller who didn't have a clue about game management.

Okay, one year out of 5. Pretty stupid of me to forget last year though when Sankey had well over 350 yards after two games. We are still running the ball fine. I was stuck on 2011 when we had common opponents (Eastern, Hawaii). I like Coleman, but he had a very pedestrian game last week and probably looked the worst out of the bunch after looking the best in weeks 1 and 2. The best RB on the roster looks to be Shaq, but his carries have to be limited. It might be hard to keep him off the field though against the tough teams.
Coleman, Washington, and Shaq would be my ideal choices for the RB rotation. I don't agree about the need for a #1 back, but ideally we would have a guy or two separate themselves. 5 guys is too many and 2 or 3 would be better so guys could get into some kind of a groove. There have been a lot of really good teams who didn't have a true #1 RB. We didn't have a bona fied #1 back in 91 or 2000. In 2000, Arnold (when healthy), Alexis, Hurst, and Clemens all played large roles. Until the running game sucks, there's not really anything to complain about.
I know chest doesn't like the idea and roaddawg hates it but I think Shaq would be a devastating safety. He has incredible closing speed, and looks to be the hardest hitter on the defense. There is no way he 230lbs and I would be surprised to see him play LB in the NFL.
As chest points out it could be difficult to learn the position at this point in the season. However, he shown he is incredibly athletic and clearly he showed willingness to RB.
Tommie Smith was a converted RB to strong safety and for those who remember he was okay. Tony Parrish was an athletic guy put at safety, Lawyer Milloy, Jake lochner and the list goes on.
The safety position doesn't look good and at least it is an interesting conversation for those that enjoy football talk here. Linebacker depth appears to be okay to allow Shaq to switch.
I know it won't happen but looking at his skills and athletic ability I think he could continue the long tradition of great safeties at UW.
I agree with chest that Washington provides the most upside and would love to see what he could do with 20 carries. He is a punishing runner and has break away speed.
As roaddawg points out the RB position is in good hands and if Kim thinks Peterson needs to hit a home run at RB position it smells of an agenda.
Cooper is fun to watch because his stride is so smooth and seems to glide on the field. I know he is exceptionally strong as well.
It's been said but the 27th can't come soon enough.
