In the meantime, according to the Times’ Adam Jude, Williams was cited but was not charged with driving under the influence. The misdemeanor case appears to now be closed.
I thought Jude was our freind. Derek? Staff?
“Williams was cited on May 26, appeared in court in Chelan County on June 14 and paid a fine of $695.50 yesterday,” Jude reported on Twitter. “Court records don’t specific if Williams consumed alcohol or marijuana, but it wasn’t enough for him to be charged with DUI.” -
Dude, how about some accuracy? Per the story below, Kasen admitted to smoking pot and drinking a beer earlier in the day - both stupid. I'm not defending what he did, but he was NOT charged with DUI, as you just said in your quote. Also, to say that he "will not be outdone by ASJ" suggests that his offense rivals ASJ's offense. IT DOESN'T. Kasen's blood alcohol level was only 0.059 which is below the legal limit of .08, while ASJ's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit. Also, Kasen volunteered to take a breathalyzer test, while ASJ refused.

Here is the more detailed story from a Wenatchee newspaper: wenatcheeworld.com/news/2013/jul/09/uw-football-star-pleads-to-chelan-drinking-driving-arrest/
Obviously he used poor judgement, but let's at least be accurate. Otherwise you're as bad as the jerk offs at the Seattle Times that enjoyed stretching the truth in order to take down Husky Football in the 1990s. Remember the BS story on Napoleon Kaufman's parking tickets?

It sounds like Kasen caught a break. The limit for an under 21 DUI is .02, not .08. So he was over twice the limit. That's not "a beer earlier in the day". -
Annoyed would be a better word.
