Tequilla Thoughts - Illinois

Couple of quick thoughts:

1) Preseason game #3 is supposed to be the dress rehearsal ... we played like it today. Relatively complete game with improved execution. A few wrinkles added into the offense to make Stanford have to start thinking about things.

2) What SHOULD start the process of shutting up the Petersen critics (because being highly critical of a coach that is 95-12 is what I like to do) resulted in me getting comments back that talked about us just simply "doing what we were supposed to do" while also being critical of the defense for allowing an opening drive score and deep passes. I also saw on Twitter idiots like Softy sitting there talking shit about how many fans in the 2nd half decided to go do something else (which makes sense given that we brought the plunger out today) ...

3) While being very happy with today's performance and confident about our ability to beat Stanford, Seven did a great job of putting the cherry on top of the day by being exactly who we thought he was (hi Dennis Green) ... what a fucking pathetic performance by the Trojans ... I'm thinking they need to feel better about themselves this week with another on-site by In and Out Burger. I'm also enjoying hearing analysts talk about how the Trojans lacked the "want to" to tackle and questioning their heart, character, and execution. Sounds like a Seven coached team to me.

Softy is so 12FS that if he doesn't see a blacked out redneck with blue and limegreen overalls pissing all over another redneck faggot wearing a Skittles t-shirt then it means UW isn't drawing a good crowd.

Petersen is reinventing his QB philosophy and getting away from the Aryan shitstache types and embracing the less cerebral purple drink types

Third best news: Troy Williams got the nod in garbage time, may be overtaking Lindy on the seating chart.
Actually when the game still somewhat mattered and Miley had to come out for a play it was Lindy who came to the rescue.

I am still sticking with Williams having the higher ceiling of all the QBs on the roster.

If we're going rip Aryan uber alles I'm outta here.

In all seriousness against CSU Georgia, don't be surprised if we run a ton of 2-deep zone read react. DBs still need work communicating in zone and the deep sideline window is still way too open. So don't freak out.

This game affirmed fans are stupid. "Move Shaq to safety!" Then Shaq goes out and scores two TD's at LB. "Move Kikaha back to DE." He still dropped in coverage at times, but had a monster game with 3 sacks.

He's not dropping very often. It's good experience for him and could be an effective thing for the defense, especially if combined with blitzes by the other LBs.

Yes, hopefully they can find a happy medium...just enough to keep opposing offenses guessing. It could be highly effective with zone-blitzes.

I'd love to see more of Kikaha and Littleton on the field together at the same time. Maybe not against Stanford but against more finesse teams.

Irish, just fucking drop the highest ceiling bullshit. If he did he would have played at Hawaii. He redshirted and still couldnt beat out the worst QB ever to wear a husky jersey. Just stop!
