Posted here for his blocked punt in 1978 that led UCLA to a season opening win at Husky Stadium over the defending Rose Bowl champs on national television

And because he's one of the greatest Seahawks ever

I had a job interview when I was a baby with Easley who ran a Seahawks publication in Kirkland at the time. Interview was going great until he asked me what I thought about Dave Krieg who was struggling at the time. I told him I thought it might be time for a change.

    Mistake.

He almost leapt over the desk at my throat. Needless to say, I didn’t get the job. But I did gain an understanding for the loyalty NFL vets had for each other. At least back then.

Jon Gruden is probably wondering why Easley is wearing a UCLA uniform in that picture.

All joking aside, sad news. He was one of the best players in the NFL. What might have been had his career not been cut short.

    May he rest in peace.

The fact he only played 89 games and retired at 28 and still made the HOF (albeit years later) says a lot. He could have been a great running back if he wanted to. Amazing athlete.
