Man, my eyes are fried…
Get it serviced and dust it off!

lol Rolex. The ultimate graduation/retirement gift.

Rolex holds secondary market value well due solely to brand recognition and every wanna-be 25yo needing it for their Instagram roll, so you could probably sell it and buy an Omega and have a luxury watch that actually works.
..or you could splurge on something even nicer like an IWC. -
Garmin watch totally changed my training for the better. In some of the best shape of my life.
-
Nobody cares about IWC, and being nicer than Rolex is a bit of a stretch. I don't think any watch person would ever say that.
-
If we are turning this into a watch thread I am here for it. Also, been a big fan of Tudor lately. They are pretty much the tool watch that Rolex was 30-40 years ago. Rolex has gone upmarket, which is cool and all but I like basic boring tool watches with in house movements at an actual tool watch price point and are somewhat fit for purpose (though let's be real who uses a 5K watch for actual diving anymore lol). IWC are nice, but outside of movement finishing I wouldn't put them above Rolex. 30 years ago for sure. Anyway, nobody wants watch drivel here. Carry on.

Super Clones are a real thing, some of the knockoffs are getting insane and nearly imperceptible from the real deal to the untrained eye.
Movement inspection, finishing, and materials are the tells required for these. Rolex uses 904l steel, 99% of other watches are made with 316l. Precious metal clones forget about it, they're garbage.
Even then you're talking 1-2k to feel like a fraud, I couldn't do it, would be like the heartbeat beneath the floorboards driving me crazy until I screamed "It's fake!"
I'll just take the opportunity to drop my Hulk in here because it is what it is

Even if I were rich, I can't fathom dropping more than $300 on a watch.
Nice cars, boats, high end booze….sure, but not for watches.
-
I look at my phone on the off chance I need to know what time it is.

Getting this back on topic somewhat, there are some pretty nice, Chinese watch brands like San Martin that you could pick up for under $300 on Ali Express. Not all clone watches, either. Probably not the case at this point in time due to tariffs, though.
