Things felt so much bigger and universal back then too. I feel like in the area there was a lot more awareness for games like that beyond even just dawg fans. I think one thing was there were fewer ways people got media - newspaper, local TV, radio, so you had to absorb stuff more universally. Also less entertainment options and less transplants.
That game is also the massive breakout of Reggie Williams.

I got in late for that game, never before or after and the roar of the crowd was pretty cool and a different experience coming into the lower bowl NE corner.
Only thing I remember from that game was seeing Reggie lose his show while running, unless my memory is off.
So many great memories over the decades in HS and only once for the opening vs Boise. Hopefully my last visit will be a home playoff win in a few years God willing. 🙏🏻
