Fetters editorial after Sark and UW were a Trufant pick away from losing @ home against EWU in Sarks 3rd season:
Sark knows there's work to be done
"Kind of sounds like the way Don James used to win games." "they have stumbled upon the right formula. Now it's up to them to hone it, refine it, perfect it, and turn their weaknesses into strengths."
http://washington.scout.com/2/1102623.htmlAfter CP's first game as head coach on the road @ Hawaii:
Petersen Plays It Too Safe"Petersen should take a cue from the Don James playbook of man management and act as if their starting quarterback has always been there and game plan for them to win the game, instead of making sure they just don’t lose it." "the Washington Huskies clearly weren’t prepared for what they saw from the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in their 17-16 win that qualifies as a very small step in the right direction - but not much more than that." "Petersen showed little of the bravado, creativity, toughness, and heart that exemplified his 92-12 coaching career at Boise State. If anything, his body language - that of a caged lion pacing up and down the sidelines - suggested he wasn’t entirely sure of his team’s preparation."
http://washington.scout.com/story/1440291-petersen-plays-it-too-safe?s=147Conclusion: Sark winning with a vanilla game plan was just like Coach Don James and Chris Petersen was unprepared and shit the bed on the road against Hawaii.
BTW: UW gave up more points (27 vs 16) total yards (504 vs 424) and gained less offensive yards (250 vs 336) at home vs EWU in 2011. The EWU QB also set the record for most pass yards (473) in Husky Stadium history
