Tez Johnson is listed at 5'10 165 and looks even smaller than that and only missed a few games in a couple years at Oregon so it can work. I know that's the kind of shit that only seems to really work out for them though so I'm sure Green will medically retire soon because he's too small.
I haven't fully sized it up yet, but I'm not getting any warm, fuzzy feelings telling me it will be much better than the roster UW ended the season with. Nothing earth shattering happened via recruiting or the portal. Some new guys signed up, some other guys bailed.
You guys excited about a huge class that pushed the rating into the top 20 should take a moment to compare that list of players and the roster itself to the big boys. UW is closer to #40-50 than it is to the top 5-10.
At the very least, Fisch has the type of QB he wants to run the offense he wants
Being able to focus the offense design and play-calling around Demond rather than Rogers and Demond will improve simplicity and efficiency, and that will be the biggest boost between 24 and 25
Anyone excited about a recruiting class is misguided regarding next years success. Portal guys and returning players are all that matters. Same with every year.
When I think about it by position, each group except for LB and Secondary should be better. Maybe WR is a push, assuming Boston takes a step forward and Cook is better than Hunter but Green or whomever else isn't as quite as productive as Giles Jackson (Rashid Williams is also promising).
The biggest improvement we should see is at QB, OL, and DL. Talent and depth at both OL and DL will be significantly better.
As much as I dislike the portal and very much hope that players will need to sign at least two year deals, it has helped UW plug holes due to the sudden transitions from Lake to DeBoer to Fisch.
Hopefully Fisch wins at least 9 games in 2025 and signs a top 15 class.
UWs success in the upcoming season will depend heavily on the development of guys who were underclassmen this last season, and possibly a few surprise true freshmen that step up. This is still the roster of a 6-8 win team unless we get a few guys to splash that we weren't expecting.

Thanks Taft!
If Green weighs 155, I'd size him up as dead on arrival.
Yet he played in 11 games and started 2 for Fisch in 2023 at 155…
Not in the B1G

Same as it recently was...

Agree, but I have serious concerns about Demond surviving an entire season. I’m not sure our OL will be good enough next year to keep him alive.

This is the roster of a 6-8 team with a shitty coach, this is a roster of an 8/9+win team with a good coach. Prove it, Fisch
So 6-8 wins.
6 wins then....
