The assumption being that Fisch beat Oklahoma to finish 10-3, a remarkable turnaround from the 1-11 record of two years prior, and thus made him an attractive commodity
It was clear that Dannen wanted to move very quickly. So maybe someone like Jason Eck or Jeff Traylor. I haven't given it a lot of thought, but it occurred to me that if Fisch loses that Alamo Bowl he probably isn't the coach here right now.
The big turn around was going 9-3 and blowing out teams the second half of the year. I would hope that anyone watching the Alamo bowl didn't think that was validation, it was zona's worst game since beating Stanford and they looked terrible by their standards.
Then again, Todd turner runs/ran a coaching search firm so I give ppl way too much credit. A lot of dumb decision makers out there.

did anyone really care about the results of the bowl game? Both teams had guys sitting out and it was a shitty game.

I think it would have been Fisch either way
