I worked for the last Republican Governor of Oregon. He told me that he would be the last Republican Governor of Oregon in my lifetime. So far, he was right on the money.
Before the left destroyed the renewable forestry industry, the state was much more Conservative. Then the earthquake happened in 88 or 89' and the Californians moved up by the tens of thousands and they destroyed the place. Portland is now a demilitarized zone and housing is out of site.
The Pacific Coast went GOP through Bush 1 in 1988. Nixon and Regan alone won California 4 times

I was in college when Carter was President. I think we all know he was a mistake and if you are a reasonable and responsible adult you ran from Carter and the dem party after college.
