Don't know if this has been posted yet, how often do UW coaches win their opening game

Below are the results for the first game for each of our coaches back to James. The level of competition is all over the place, but only Lambo and now Pete won their first game as Dawgs. Can't really draw any conclusions here, but I thought it might be interesting.

(L) 1975 Don James, Lost at ASU 35 - 12 (though that was a 12-0 ASU that beat Nebraska in the Fiesta bowl)
(W) 1993 Lambo beat Stanford at home 31 - 14 (4-7 Furd team)
(L) 1999 Rick lost at BYU 35 - 28 (8-4 BYU team)
(L) 2003 Gilby lost at Ohio St 28-9 ( 11-2 OSU team )
(L) 2005 Ty lost at home to Air Force (4-7 AF team)
(L) 2009 Sark lost at home to LSU 31 - 23 (9-4 LSU team)
(W) 2014 Pete won at Hawaii 17 - 16 ( who knows )

The real measure will be how Pete respond's to such a poor showing. He is lucky as hell to escape Oahu with a win.

Maybe this wasn't last year's Hawaii team...
