Jay Chinslee kind of improved forest management last season - but years of fuckery still accounted for 'smoke season'.
What the fuck is 'smoke season'? That was never a thing in my youth.
Drill baby drill needs to be rephrased as "Timber baby timber" in the PNW. Make Weyerhaeuser great again. I want my cheap WOOD!

I said this to someone a couple summers ago… "It was never like this when I was growing up"

My brother was a DNR fire fighter during summers when he was in college. When there were no fires they cleared brush aka fuel
There is a reason it wasn't like this

Is that the one you fought in the garage?

Underbrush removal and controlled burns worked great until the the Clintons canceled it all. Raking the forests worked. They closed the roads and called them "unroads". They were quickly overgrown and rendered useless so fire fighters couldn't access the areas. This was a plan. It was intentional and still is.
They closed millions or acres to the public. They don't want you on their land.
