I thought to myself how would it be more rare pre the BCS/playoffs when conf winners were removed out of their traditional bowls in the BCS era or blocked (Oregon in 2001 season) since The Rose was the natty.
In the 28 years since the BCS only two teams have played in three straight RBs.
Wisconsin and USC
In the 28 years before the BCS five teams played in three or more* straight RBs.
Doh! I am staunch proponent of the year of the season and not the year the bowl game fell in. That said, it was c-hair away from Chip winning 4 straight conference titles.

The Big 10 had a no repeat rule until the late 60s which would effect their records

*Ohio State had a four straight.
That was even before my time. Made me look. The Pacific coast did have three peats including Cal and Stanford along with Usc. Long time ago
I sit corrected on my wording. It should be more rare now. I should have left it as rare period before BCS. Still wrong but still
I reckon Wisconsin got the Rose Bowl when Ohio State was BCS not for winning the Big Ten 3 in a row
Anyway Worshington is in there with the California schools. As always
Oregon would have gone to 3 straight if not for the BCS in 10,11,12
Those were legit.
Didn't Stanford win the Pac in 2012 and then the Rose Bowl?
2010 - Oregon played in the Natty Game
2011- Oregon won the Pac and Rose Bowl
2012 - Stanford won the Pac and Rose Bowl; Oregon beat K State in the Fiesta
Also how in the fuck did we beat Stanford in 2012 (I was there) who beat Oregon at Autzen in 2012?
Champs 09, 10, 11 seasons
But 10,11,12 post seasons (Rose, natty, Rose)
Ducks went to 4 straight BCS bowels. I understand how I listed it was confusing.

I’m with you. I had to re-read his post like 4x because I was thinking 2012 season not 2012 rose bowl game
Sometimes I forget how autistic the readers are here too
Precision counts
I pride myself on being one of the least on the spectrum posters we have, but my eyes fail me from time to time.
Thats fine but at the time we were specifically talking Rose Bowles and not conf championships.
2010 Rose, 2011 Natty game, 2012 Rose are the names of those games whether you like it or not, pal.
I ain't mad at ya, chief.
You sure about that champ?
Yup, sport.
