You need typically 4 players for New York, and there weren’t many good options out there for a 4th. Skatebo? Klubnik? Shadeur? The QB of the only undefeated team in CFB with upper tier stats to go with it. They could have done much worse than Gabriel. I don’t really see the mystery there. The only thing that bothered me was Deion and his kid, basically taking much of the spotlight away from Travis Hunter. That didn’t set very well with me.
The Army QB as a top ten finalist, then laying that egg against Navy seemed pretty appropriate. Thanks for serving our country, but it’s 2024, a military school player is not in the same league.

You make a sound argument. I had Hunter and Jeanty as 1A and 1B.
Hunter the better athlete and player. Jeanty the better season and stats. I also dinged Hunter for missing time due to injury.
1400 plus snaps. Most players wouldn't make it through alive much less have the stamina to even try, much less the ability to be elite at both.
Stats whores need to do their thing in a P5 conference or GTFO.
Best Heisman in decades.
But your conciliatory and reasonable post deserves you another plate of nachos. Go get 'em big fella.
