This is such a cuck mentality. Do we expect the players and agents to be dumb and not want get the best value they can? If this is truly our philosophy, it’s a sad sad day.

I'll be right here with you and @Canadawg and all the rest in 2-3 weeks if this staff whiffs on all their needs. Why waste the wind now though? For whatever reason they are keeping shit very close to the vest this time. No one has heard anything of merit one way or the other. Will it work? Who knows, let's celebrate the haul or lament the failure in 21 days. Sound okay?

We have no idea what Butler was offered from either UW or Tech
He's the first player that we've lost where I'd have been happier to have seen him back … but there's a limit
Our run D success was IMO more based off of scheme and players doing their job within that scheme than it was our individual players as most of our interior DL were JAGs and JAG+'s for me
Success on the interior DL is often more about having quality depth and the ability to rotate without a drop off than anything else
It's not a position that you typically see the NFL shelling out big big contracts for with the exception of the guys that are true difference makers that impact the game both in the run and pass game
Butler for me is a JAG+ player
Would have liked to have seen him back
Would not have wanted to overpay for him in the grand scheme of things within what we have available to spend

I would prefer that UW pay to keep their good players, as well as add more good players from the portal.
But we can't do that because we're a poverty program, apparently.
Not going to win jack shit without depth. You have to pay for depth, too.
