Real simple this time, NO ONE HOLDS ON TO THEIR ENTIRE TWO DEEPS. No one. It would be great if teams could but they don't. There is an easy reason that Mississippi is in the final 4 and not Alabama, Georgia or Ohio State. Can you figure it out? Almost every team has freshman and sophomores as their back ups.
Trinidad Chambliss was a D2 QB. Not FCS, D2. You and other "Sky is falling" posters would have been pissed and ashamed the Huskies identified his talent because of where he was found.
I'd love for Henning, Butler, Paki, RVB and Mohammed to come back but I'm not delusional enough to think my team is different or more special than anyone else. My long walk on the beach last week led me to this one realization; this shit happens to everyone.
Last time on this: As for Puka he's easily the most talented WR on the 2021 Huskies if he stays healthy. If he comes back for 2022 then one of Jmac, Rome or Polk takes greater or equal money to START for another team. Kids don't wait their turn.
Paki and Henning really suck losing but they want to start. That wasn't happening here next year. They aren't waiting their turn. More power to them. Butler, Mohammed and RVB are nice players but are replaceable if they were asking for a lot more than UW thought they were worth. So I guess WDWTA if they overvalued themselves. Go get paid. Maybe they hate Seattle, It's not hard when you come from somewhere sunny and warm. Good luck to them in their future endeavors. I'm just not losing sleep about them.

I've NEVER said that you don't want as many good players on your roster as possible.
What I did say is that it's not easy to hold on to players that are projected to be backups when they will likely be starters elsewhere … and that's doubly true if the money offered is comparable.
IF we were able to offer more than everybody else then that would be one thing … but we almost assuredly aren't doing that. Someone is offering a starting position and/or more more money.
That's life in this era of college football. It sucks for the 2026 OL for UW but it's not a deal breaker.
I agree with you on Muhammed being the 1B running back to Bonner … I suspect that we will potentially look at a bigger back in the portal but probably not someone that costs as much. Also important to keep in mind that there's some other RBs on the roster that may also be able to step into that role.

no uw related but wtf is goin on at alabama? can any of these guys play OL?
-
Alabama should have paid to keep them! What a bunch of losers!
-
BYU is gonna be a major player in the portal, expect numerous highly rated transfers. That money is gonna be spent.
-
Kolt is the #6 OT in the portal fwiw. #65 overall. A bum, he is not.
-
I don't think he's a bum per se …
He's likely being told he will have a shot to come in and compete for a starting T spot … he probably won't win it
That said we likely need a 3rd T and he's almost assuredly going to be getting snaps to play in the B10 vs the ACC/Big12 … so who knows

I see what you're saying on most of that. I think the issue is that I'm speaking on what we know and you are speaking on what you hope. That Fisch will find people better than them to play their positions. Even if he does for 1 or 2 spots it's still at best a neutral portal situation for a team we expect to be top 15ish in year 3 of a coach that supposed to be a recruiter
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

You're forcing me to echo Race with the poor lil Washington now.
Let's track where these guys are going. Muhammad, Butler, RVB. Washington should be able to pay for everyone of those guys against everyone besides maybe a few programs especially when they're already on the team. So let's see if they go to one of those schools AND let's see if Fisch replaces them with someone better. My bet is no to both
