Who knows. There was only a handful of SoCal bros in my section. Guys over 40 seemed like goatee burnouts and the younger guys shoes were too clean and chinstraps who probably wish they could just be Oregon fans, and really they're all just Kobe fans. Small, strange fanbase for a program with such success. There's plenty of flaws about both guys but I'll always thanks Peterlips and DeBoner for helping us have the kind of success the last 10 years that's probably helped us from dying as a program as much as they have.
Living in LA for a long time and having family and ex family connected to the school it seemed like they lacked fans who didn't go to the school, which doesn't work for college football despite what some assholes will try to say. A lot of their fans were like I go to 1-2 games a year and cheer but couldn't tell you about a single player and I really mostly like beating UCLA so I can rib my co-workers. They lack a lunatic fringe.
I assume their fans who care enough to spend a lot of money are dead or about to die and tone deaf to stuff like kids want last names on the jerseys and more than one jersey and they get their lunch money stolen by Oregon in recruiting in their backyard.
I was actually at a USC watch party against Rutgers in SoCal and got forced to have to hang out with some 50 year old guy wearing a purple and yellow Kobe Dodgers jersey who was "in the SoCal recruiting scene" and his son was at IMG for baseball. He basically just glazed Oregon for some reason and talked about how they came in with great facilities and changed recruiting. I'm sure his wife likes to fuck other guys.
I still like Giles. I wonder if he was banged up as they didn't really throw to him much for a while. I just don't like throwing fades to him as he's 5'9 tops and Rogers is throwing them 10 y yards out of bounds anyways.
No way man, I'm told that SC and Michigan mean nothing because they played at Husky Stadium and they aren't as good this year.
The Cuowg was the all time game, just look at what they're doing this year and please ignore the Hawaii's and SJSU's on their schedule that are replacing the usual teams that would be handing Dickert his 5 game losing streak.
Fuck it's hard, but at this point if you make me have to choose 2/4 of those games to win I probably still now pick Michigan and USC. Always great to beat those teams. Defended the home winning streak and got a great experience at the time for Michigan + couldn't lose the home streak to them and some satisfaction not losing to them again after the natty.
The Coug are interesting. They're actually a decent team for them but would probably be a 5-7-win team in the Pac. Is it more fun for them to go 11-1 as a Mountain West team? I genuinely want to know.
The Cougs got a bad break by Boise having Jeanty who usually would have portalled to a blue blood. 12-0 could have been a reality if they didn't have him. This was kind of a golden year for the Coug though as they'll have to really fight to keep Mateer and any decent player on their roster next year and beyond.

thanks for the pods, pods
Beating USC and Michigan and losing to Washington State and Rutgers … wacky season.
PAWD
MAKE SENSE?
Soooooo…does USC respect us now or what?
DWAG SENSE!

Well, I haven’t respected them since the Pete Carroll days, and yet I somehow perennially get hoodwinked into thinking that they’ll be good.
Them and the fucking Seattle Mariners.
The fact that they're all massive, massive Dodger fans and hate Oregon as much or more as we? do says it all.
It's the kind of fanbase that without a huge money or built in advantage, doesn't give a fuck.

I just remembered one of y'all said you're tired of Giles. He's been clutch for 2 years now going back to the Oregon game last year I like him a lot
Just as I got on the Giles Jackson train, Joey abandoned all hope

If someone said to start the season you'll lose to WSU and Rutgers but beat Michigan and USC later in the season, I would have taken it.

Boise got famous by going 11-1 multiple years as a MWC team playing those schedules. No 5-7 Cuog Pac-12 team is famous or memorable.
