If they were in the SEC they'd probably also have 2-3 loses. The Huskies at home is seriously the toughest game they have had and will be their toughest game other than at Ohio State.
Nebraska should have been their toughest game to date. After the Huskers were blown out by IU but took OSU to the limits in Columbus, I thought that Hoosier win was special. Now, after Iowa plungered Nebraska worse than they did to UW, I tend to agree that IU's toughest game has been UW.
I think IU is a legit threat to beat most teams outside the top 15.
I struggle to believe they'd be competitive against playoff-caliber programs in the SEC or B1G. They'd probably win the Big12, maybe the ACC, though.
Transfer portal and NIL has made a lot of teams competitive but not very good. Only a few teams/coaches have been able to manage massive roster turnover. Cignetti was able to bring 40 plus guysm from James Madison to IU. That relative continuity appears to have given them a veteran-like edge. They just play well together.
I think they'll give OSU a good first half before wearing down in the trenches. Bucks win rather easily, say 34-17?
