Vegas Weekend: The biggest heist of all time

SwoopTheMoonSwoopTheMoon Member Posts: 93

Fellow bro's-I am hoping that we can all become friends and unite behind a single subject. As I prepare to depart for a vegas bros weekend staying at the Bellagio and have remembered the biggest Vegas heist of all time…6-5 Blackjack Payout…

How do we combat this with strategy? Do we increase our double downs aka always double on 11? Aggressive splits? Let me know your thoughts so I can really tell who the sharks are!

Spaz can’t even figure out basic blackjack odds.

    Wanna play some poker, Corky?

Check out the Blackjack Apprentice channel on YouTube. He actually breaks this down. You can still get 3/2 blackjack payouts, but only at higher bet tables. The house edge if playing perfect blackjack at a 3/2 table is something like .5% without card counting, while the 6/5 blackjack payout increases the house edge to around 2%. He goes to as far as saying that card counting at a 6/5 table isn't profitable long term. As each added true count in the decks translates into only a .5% edge to the player. So in standard 3/2 blackjack, you need a true count of 2 to have an edge. But with a 6/5 table, you need a true count of 5 or more. This creates far fewer opportunities and more time burning through minimum bets until the right time comes, and even then, simple variance makes it a nightmare with such small margins. His only solution to stop the 6/5 tables is to boycott them completely. It will also only be a matter of time until they start using automatic continuous shuffling tables with 6/5 blackjack payout.

By comparison here are the typical casino house edge at the tables:

Baccarat - 1.1% if player always bets with the banker

Craps - .5% house if you strictly play the pass line and certain odds bets

Roulette - 2.7% with one zero and 5.3% with the double zero added

    Video Poker - 1%

Slots - penny slots (8-12%) nickel slots (6-12%) quarter slots (5-10%) Dollar slots (2.5-6%)

6/5 blackjack is on par with roulette when it comes to odds, and must always be avoided.

Go to a 25 buck plus a hand table, those are usually 3 to 2

Someone is going to be looking for the nickel slots before 7:00 hoping he gets a free drink and then thinking the 50+ yo cocktail waitress is looking mighty nice.
