We do have an exciting season left, only because we're in the B1G.
Everyone cried about how we're playing fucking ASU or Cal during this week normally and instead we get Michigan that would turn our whole season.
Both LA schools are at home in one single year.
Iowa and Penn St, more people will tune into those than 3/4 of our normal Pac 12/P12N viewership combined. Indiana is now going to be a big game because of what they've done.
It is a large stupid conference with dumb fuck scheduling though.
I do like how being in the Big 10 does create some bigger games and appreciate playing some teams that are just playing straight up and aren't some weird rivalry like the Bay Area schools and ASU and the Beav where it seems like they're going to play their best game of the season every year. The four west coast schools not playing each other every season is incredibly dumb for so many reasons. Oregon and USC not playing this year is idiotic as is not future years where we don't play the LA schools.
They should have split it into east and west divisions, but it gets a little dicey since you'd have to separate Illinois and Northworstern, but it seems doable. At least it would cut down on travel time and costs. Going to Minneapolis, Iowa, and Lincoln isn't as dumb as going to suburban DC and Newark.
I had thought they would do geographical divisions which in a normal world is what makes sense. One of the problems is you end up with the problem they already had with Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State all being in the same division, though with the west coast schools now they would end up playing a real team and not Northwestern or Iowa for the "championship" each year.
UW really squandered the chance to get great exposure and make a splash in year one in the Big 10. Should be 5-0 with Game Day and a very beatable Michigan team coming to town.
Already seeing call outs to just make the 24+ team professional version of college football and then it just depends on if UW gets included or not. Losing to the Coug and Rutgers isn't good for that.
You lose way too much inventory for any kind of a 24/32 team model. And every self-sufficient AD is getting included. I've never seen UW left off of any of these lists.

Thanks Taft!
I didn’t hear the racket on my end during recording. I don’t know what it is. Maybe wire tapping 🤔
The excitement here is palpable.

it also puts UW on the national map on a regular basis a helluva lot more than the PAC-12 ever could

I think the B1G just figures this is a transition period to a semi-pro league so why put too much time and energy into it
