I find this a lot where people pretend to "centrism" and/or "both sides are bad" as it is a lot more polite and palatable than "if you oppose statism you belong in a camp or dead".
The trouble is that once you start "going into the weeds" their actual views get exposed, which by and large are often hyper tribal. Once exposed they can either admit they were wrong or double down. Then it isn't long until you get to hear about denying people medical care etc.
Any of this sounding familiar?
Imagine what they say in private among themselves and not in this place with pushback. I get to hear it all the time living in California.

We all know that "most" of any large demographic are generally normal and reasonable people just trying to get by. We get it. But that, in itself, does not negate the observation of concerning trends. That's all I was trying to say. And one such concerning trend (not really even a trend anymore) is what is happening in London.But let's focus, instead, on finding a better analog to "my law firm clients" anecdata and ignore the point being made.
