I saw that a guy for the Magic just signed a 5 year deal for upwards of $250 million. I have an NBA obsessed buddy and asked him if the player was on the rise, etc. No, just described him as "solid" and not a top-3 guy on a championship caliber team.
I'm not going to be able to think and care about the NBA if/when it returns. On top of it being 50% a three point exhibition, the money for guys who are rotation players, at best, is getting to be insulting to the consumers that fund the league with eyes and dollars. And not to get too Tuggy, but it's likely that 90% of the guys playing in the NBA hate people like me. I can't see my time and money going to that product.
Seattle cares more about getting the Sonics back than they do about the Sonics.
It's been awhile since they've had the NBA, and this time they won't be getting KD. Harder to get a real contender roster than every other pro sport.
Both Seattle winter pro franchises will suffer in attendance after a couple years of the Sonics being back, and then the Kraken will get moved up to Canada somewhere. Second BC/Ontario location or maybe, finally Quebec City.
It would have been exciting in 2013. At this point, who cares?
Does anyone over say 42 even watch the NBA? It's some three point shooting contest with skinny 6-11 dorks who think they're some point forward because they can "slash" to the basket, because if you breath on anyone it's a foul and travelling is allowed. They blackball their own players for calling out Chinese human rights abuses. TITTT.
Maybe someone has stats to say otherwise, but it certainly feels like the NBA is falling off in the US and they're gonna lean on the international audience. They have no characters. Basketball was also ahead of football in all the players getting funneled into the shitty AAU type off season bullshit where they all become buddies and shit and it feels like it loses the competition which makes sports worth watching.

At best they could get to where they were when they left - OKC with stars and no rings then lose everyone and now best record last year and no ring
They will mostly suck like most of the league

I probably won't care very much. The Sonics died in 2008
But you’ll miss Bronny saving the NBA
