Oh the joys of living under rat rule. Resembles 3rd world more and more every day.
Unfortunately, rats control our crumbling education system so they have a built in vote supply.
Imagine liberal politicians threatening businesses who are reporting thefts. Unbelievable.
The City of Sacramento, California’s legal department threatened to fine a popular retail store for public nuisance over numerous calls to police after thieves stole from its Land Park location multiple times, according to a report.
The Sacramento Bee reported that a person with knowledge of the warning who wanted to remain anonymous out of fear they could be retaliated against, said Sacramento officials warned they would issue an administrative fine to the Target at 2505 Riverside Boulevard in Land Park, during the past year.

Oh, but if the store took care of the problem then the dems would give the store owner and any employees involved in the takedown the January 6th treatment and a stern warning to the public to let the police handle it.
Shrinkage is a definite contributor to inflation as well.
It would be interesting to see the actual crime statistics if all crimes were reported. The number of people who don't bother to call is high. I'm guessing these calls probably make that number rise.
On a side note, its quite the conundrum in a lot of cities. District Attorney's not prosecuting criminals has led to police actively avoiding doing police work. So as much as I'd like to put all the blame on DA's / Judges, faith in the police is also low when they don't do their job either. So blame gets doled out to both sides, and not just the DA's / Judges. I wish police would do their job, just arrest the fuck out of criminals, and put the pressure on DA's / Judges.
They tried that. It doesn't matter. Why chase some criminal and end up with a criminal charge that is the one criminal charge the DA is interested in. Too many broken window arrests and your dem Police Chief will be all over your ass. Occasionally, a Soros DA gets replaced but blue states have basically repealed criminal charges for car theft and shoplifting.
10's of 1000's of unreported crimes in larger rat run cities. Watching a sheriff from some town North of San Fran a while back and he claimed that in that area alone there are many 1,000's of crimes that go un-responded to and un reported.
There are major cities now not even reporting crime for the official statistics.

In 2019, 89% of municipal police departments – spanning about 97% of the population – submitted crime data to the FBI. To compensate for incomplete data, the FBI will fill in gaps using "inferred" statistics, the report notes.
However, by 2021, less than 63% of departments spanning across 65% of the population submitted crime data. Several big cities – Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago – did not submit crime data at all to the FBI last year.
When reached on Monday, the FBI said it had no comment on an external report. It noted that participation in the Uniform Crime Reporting program is voluntary – the UCR program is how the FBI collects crime data from local law enforcement agencies.
If a program benefited leftards then it wouldn't be voluntary.
In Atlanta, folks have stopped calling police for a number of smaller crimes because you just don't get a response from a police force that is over worked and understaffed.
Hey look at that- crime is down.
