Let's see, the only coaches with right around 60% or better percentages are Peterman (.67), Nick Saban (.59), Jimbo Fisher (.64), Urban Meyer (.68), Bob Stoops (.68) and David Shaw (.78) (Holy Fuck 14-4).
Meanwhile, the fat Armenian sports a .31 to go with his three chins. And yet there are still morons at Doogfarm that would trade Peterman for Sark straight up. It must be really hard going through life fat AND dumb.
FWIW, Mike Riley is in at .25. I did not count Slingblade as he has a whopping 3 games against Top 25 comp.

If you are at .500 against top 25 you are doing something right... This is a really cool graphic to look at. If I hadn't even looked at this I would have named most of the coaches with above or at .500 marks as the best coaches in America.
Leach is really not that impressive when you look at this stat.
Because Leach is really not that impressive, stat or no stat. He is eccentric and unorthodox, which plays out on the field as unpredictable. That will win you some games. Once you get passed the weird shit, I don't think Leach has much football substance.
A lot of Seven's wins are a joke too against top 25.
#19 BSU 2013 - probably the worst BSU team talent wise in Petersen's tenure. One of the worst QBs I have ever seen in the balcony pisser. They still had some decent drives against us and couldn't finish usually to some fucktarded QB play
#8 Stanford 2012 - Nunes, enough said on that.
#7 OSU 2012 - Crazy overrated at 7... fringe top 25, would have been plungered on the road.
#18 USC 2010 - Mediocre USC team coached by Kiffin. He gets a little credit for it being on the road but far from an impressive win
#24 OSU 2010 - Team had a losing record (5-7) at the end of the year. Took fatass 2OT at home to beat them.
#20 Nebraska 2010- Confusing game. Shitty defense played lights out for some reason while Seven's offense sucked. Oh and Bo Pelinni.
#3 USC 2009 - PC's worst USC team in his tenure. Barkley was hurt and had some garbage backup throwing our players the ball.
#17 Cal 2009 - LOL it is fucking Cal and they are still wayyyy too high on this list.
Wow what a list. The Stanford win was probably his best and it took a QB who wouldn't start on the Sultan HS JV football team and the Stanford receivers having dipped their gloves in Crisco before the game started. We looked HORRIBLE until Sankey saved Sarks ass (reoccurring theme for Steve) with that freakish run on 4th down.

Trying to diminish Top 25 victories is a Doog activity.

I am pretty sure the Stanford win is the only one where the team he beat ended up being ranked at the end of the season. Maybe the 2012 OSU team too but I forget.

No Sark apologist here, but you can probably run down the list of all those coaches and start discounting Top 25 wins. The key point is that Sark was 8-18 against Top 25, which is nowhere near good enough to be in Pac-12 title contention. Simple as that.
2-21 for Dan Mullen stood out to me. He's a mild version of Sark. He got Mississippi State to winning 7, 8 games and people started wondering if he was a great coach. In reality, he's a very average coach who got the job because he worked for Urban Meyer at Florida when Tebow and Harvin were there.

And, say whatever you want about Nunes, but if we're going to start bashing on The Mighty Sultan Turks, then I'm out!
Gary Patterson at .500 is pretty impressive as well. Cool that he and Petersen are both from the UC Davis tree and really stand out as the giant killers. Sochor must have been an unbelievable coach.
Stoops at 50-23! People are going to regret saying he's lost it. He will have another run where he goes to a 2-3 title games in 5 years. Oklahoma has an easy schedule this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they are one of the four that make the inaugural playoff. He's a fantastic coach.

Thing with Patterson is that if you look at the games that they've played against the Top 25, a lot of those have been road games prior to going back to the Big 12:
@ #2 Oklahoma = 35-10 loss #9 BYU = 32-7 win @ #10 Utah = 13-10 loss N #11 Boise St = 17-16 win
2009:
@ #16 BYU = 38-7 win #16 Utah = 55-28 win N #4 Boise St = 17-10 loss
2010:
N #24 Oregon St = 30-21 win @ #6 Utah = 47-7 win N #7 Wisconsin = 21-19 win
2011:
@ #5 Boise St = 36-35 win
2012:
#18 Texas Tech = 56-53 loss (3 OT) @ #23 West Virginia = 39-38 win (2 OT) #3 Kansas St = 23-10 loss @ #18 Oklahoma = 20-13 win #12 Oklahoma = 24-17 loss
2013:
N #12 LSU = 37-27 loss @ #11 Oklahoma = 20-17 loss @ #21 Oklahoma St = 24-10 loss #9 Baylor = 41-38 loss
Has to be a game that I'm missing - possibly 2003 vs. Louisville. Patterson's record is stellar. Of his 14 wins against Top 25 teams, 10 of them have come either on the road or in neutral field games.
Anybody that is looking for a darkhorse this year in the Big 12, TCU is your team. Not only do they have a high level coach that has a proven ability to beat good teams (including on the road), but in looking at their 8 losses last year, only the loss to Texas was by more than 2 scores with 4 of the losses coming by a FG or less. And that was done without having a QB on the roster for most of the season.
