This reminds me of how my dad who is oddly kind of an old hippy soy boy with what music he likes for some reason really tries to act like he's not familiar with AC/DC or their music at all. Whenever they come up he just says "Is that that band that sings about shaking it all night?" Like sure, dad, that's how limited your awareness of AC/DC is.
Indeed the Beatles still get plenty of play and they make their way into the musak which gets played on the golf course.
It will be 18 years since T Swift's first album dropped later this year and those songs are still popular and well known. I've sure 12 years from now those songs will still be played.
I'm still taking the Beatles when it comes to this question and on that same note the Beatles hit their higher level of popularity within a few years of dropping onto the scene; Taylor is here after 15+ years of pumping out music and garnering attention.
What Tay Tay does have people flying across the country or to other continents to see her tour in person. That wasn't really possible in the 1960s for the Beatles but it does deserve to be recognized how nuts it is for Taylor to be filling airplanes crossing oceans because there is such demand for her live performances. That's how we're going to see her tour.
To make it easy I think The Beatles are the biggest and overall artist of all time. Michael Jackson the biggest solo artist and Swift female artist. I would guess counting Fleetwood Mac and ABBA as female artists would be the debate and Adele, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion? Oh and Madonna.

Thanks Pawz!
I've never understood the appeal of Taylor Swift whatsoever
There really is no appeal. Songs are ok. Body is ok. Looks are ok. She doesn’t really act. Her voice is just ok.
Hold on you guys, I need to alert the press that two (I think) straight (I think)Gen X guys aren't into Taylor Swift.
Isn't Joey Gen Y?
It’s 2024 Derek… I can identify however the fuck I want to
good one pawz… love it. The distribution network of the music biz is nothing like anything we had previously imagined… radio is dead,
which was how everyone heard new music, music stores where you would buy music and listen to new artists are dead, musical venues, dance clubs
are dead, the whole thing is just streaming and music channels. Country still has airplay in small city America and is the last Music Biz that
is still operating in some ways like it used to. The music biz is now a joke, in their greed and ineptitude, the big labels ate their own tails and
the only thing left is their dying excrement. Just my 2 cents.
Wood, but that's admittedly a pretty low bar. Toothy head isn't a disqualifier.
I don't know a single song title or what ay of them sound like. I wouldn't know her voice if I heard it.
Wood though. Did I mention that?
I’ve hated her ever since the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

There's really no way for me to be exposed other than maybe in tv commercials during football season. I mostly avoid those though.
Makes sense? CHIEFS SENSE!!
Would your dad like it if the Huskies ran out of the tunnel to the tunes of Cat Stevens?
I heard You Belong to Me while shopping at Albertson's. I was also working with 20 something women. I like the album Red
Haven't kept up
I think he liked Cat Stevens at the time of his big albums but now if he comes up he says something like "Oh you mean YUSUF ISLAM!"
Race liking a Taylor Swift album was not on my bingo card.

Heart too.
The GoGos were female artists.
