They fail to mention it was 20 years ago. Purposeful? Dogs are killed all the time. Often because people don't want them anymore and they just go to the vet and have them euthanized. Breeders of all types of animals cull poor examples as standard practice. I see nothing big in killing a dog if something was seriously wrong with it. People who live in the country take care of that work themselves. This is really a big nothing burger but she was dumb enought to put it in her book which I find more damaging to her character than anything else.

We put down two dogs due to old age. Gave them the needle. In the country you might use a gun. Not a big deal

But it was a pup with behavior issues. That can be fixed

My Dad put down dogs all the time. With a .22. That's country living. But to put it in a book in 2024 in hyper sensitive America is just a dumb unforced error.
