You have to have a degree of native intelligence to get into Columbia. What you don't need is any intellectual curiosity and common sense. When I grew up the smart kids in school were fascinated by the space race and man going to the moon. Today, it seems everything is focused inward. So, these Columbia kids were not educated, they were indoctrinated and have no interest in actually learning economics, history and science. No need to actually learn anything about what really effects you and society. From kindergarten on they are just told what to think by their teachers who likewise were told what to think and that there was no need to look beyond the liberal slogans. Proudly ignorant and stuffed full of a wad of feelings is enough. Independent thought based on actual facts just gets smacked down and punished. Need to know anything about covid? No need, just listen to St. Fow Chee tell you how to keep yourself safe, mask up, hide in your basement and take your experimental vaccine and all will be fine.
