I called a customer who I knew had a daughter and niece at Columbia. I was curious what he thought. He is a very successful developer, great guy, tough as nails and an Independent like me. He said he and his wife actually saw his Niece on Television participating in protests. He informed her that he has cut off her funding for next year (School is just about over) and that she would have to move home to live with her parents and they could discuss her future once she was settled. His daughter took exception to what her father did to her cousin, so he cut her off too. The moral of the story is, read the room. If the guy who pays for your education might be appalled that his family is populated by Jew haters, you probably shouldn't be a Jew hater.

He said basically what we all know about these stupid kids. They are taking part in this shit and they do so for popularity and virtue signaling. He said his daughter couldn't even answer basic questions about the Palestinian people and their supposed homeland but she still wanted to argue with him to the point of pissing him off. Both he and his wife are alumni of the school and in his chat with others, several parents are yanking their kids out of school and many have pledged that they will never give another dime to the institution. He lives in Beaufort SC and guesses he will give the girls the choice between Clemson, Coastal Carolina or University of South Carolina. There will be preconditions this time and I think he means it.
I told him that he should thank the girls. He will save about $600K over the next 3 years by sending them to state schools. Think about that? $600K for two kids for 3 years worth of a shitty education. The price is out of control. The 600K is probably what he takes in after taxes in about 45 days of work so it is relatively no skin off his nose but to people like me, that is a game only the rich can play and is a huge waste of money regardless of who you are or how much you make.

You have to have a degree of native intelligence to get into Columbia. What you don't need is any intellectual curiosity and common sense. When I grew up the smart kids in school were fascinated by the space race and man going to the moon. Today, it seems everything is focused inward. The closest thing we have to October Sky is Elon Musk and he is hated by the left for opening up X to conservative voices. So, these Columbia kids were not educated, they were indoctrinated and have no interest in actually learning economics, history and science. No need to actually learn anything about what really effects you and society. From kindergarten on they are just told what to think by their teachers who likewise were told what to think and that there was no need to look beyond the liberal slogans. Proudly ignorant and stuffed full of a wad of feelings is enough. Independent thought based on actual facts just gets smacked down and punished. Need to know anything about covid? No need, just listen to St. Fow Chee tell you how to keep yourself safe, mask up, hide in your basement and take your experimental vaccine and all will be fine. You see it here. The Tug leftards have no interest in the actual facts on the ground and there is no debate, just conclusions stated as facts. It doesn't matter if it is mello or a MSNBC anchor or a Columbia University president or professor.
