If college sports had been like this in 2000, when I got interested enough to follow the whole roster and recruiting and all the other inner workings of the program, I never would have gotten that interested. I would've watched games and even attended the odd one. I never would have ended up here or in any other fan site though.
But they weren't like this and I'm already in. I'll stay in as long as it's UW versus everyone else. I'll miss the way rosters used to be built. That's a loss. It's still football and I still have a team to root for. I'm not going anywhere yet.
I agree with this sentiment. I’ll still care during the season, but with the number of defections every portal season, I won’t give a shit about the offseason like I used to. I’ll care from August through January, just like I do with the Seahawks.
I think this sums up how most of are feeling Spoon Chucker.
It's hard to generate the same passion for the game that we had 10 or 20 years ago, but it's not like there's another alternative sport ready to fill to void. NBA, NFL, MLB all are lame.
I'll keep watching games, shit posting here, wearing my W hat and shit talking ducks, but there's a level of apathy in my soul that wasn't present pre NIL/Transfer Portal.
