My beef with W was cutting taxes. He was a big spender and I never criticized him for not spending enough. (I'm not strictly opposed to throwing grandma off the cliff, either.)

In real life, "entitlements" really means it's not discretionary. Most of you would squeal like stuck pigs if anyone actually cut your entitlements. You can raise income or pay interest.
