Nebraska and A&M are the 2 most coveted AD's in the country because they do nothing yet still rake like they've won big recently. With UW there is obviously real work to be done there.
Hiring a Midwest guy has become a mistake for West Coast schools. It isn't hard to do anything in the Midwest when you have fans that show up no matter what, so what "fundraising" skills are you needing from someone like Dannen? Firing Hopkins a year early and accepting Jedd Fisch's offer were obvious choices.
There's some tin foil hat comments about Adidas playing a part in all of this.
I guess he and his wife "have family" in Iowa too.

Yeah, I get it. But at the same time, if it was THAT important, why leave Tulane for UW at this stage of his career? He could have just waited out for the right gig closer to home.
