It was lame when UW did it for football, so no, I won't be doing it.
That was embarrassing enough here but I don’t think it really caught on much.
I don't understand how the tournament takes higher value over the regular season. Say UW hoops had won the P12 Tournament. Would people really say they were the P12 champs over Arizona? Conference tournaments only serve to dilute the importance of the regular season.

it’s the opposite in my opinion. Only the conference tourney champ is guaranteed a tourney bid. Wasn’t there are year or two that UW won the regular season but lost the conference tourney and missed the ncaa tourney?

Yes, but my point is that a 4 day tournament tosses out the value of a 18 or 20 game conference schedule. Might as well just make the regular season a triple elimination thing that runs for two months.
