Ex post facto prevents a law from being retroactive. It's a completely valid concern if you are into personal liberties and things like that. I guess not for you.
Or the dementia patient being so infirm that he didn't know about his possession of illegal classified documents. Like the dazzler, buck likes to focus on the big issues.
No seriously though, what other cases can I apply the "Well im afraid people aren't going to be aware of the law". Westlinn….I think you might be Kavanaugh bro! Just confirm it already.
Not familiar with this specific case, but is it a ban on new sales or new adjustments of bump stocks, or is it a ban on all bump stocks regardless of when they were created? In which case you would be a criminal for owning one post facto without taking any new action… Every law needs to pass that test.
So if I have one that I purchased legally and don't get rid of it, would that make me a criminal if I don't take any action? That's a real concern, should be easy to understand.
In what world is being unaware of the law a reasonable and valid defense? Shoot, I hope that this is the ruling that's passed down. I'll pretty much do what I want because I was unaware of any laws!!!
Bucks favorite Justice Jackson who can't define a woman has determined that a bump stock can get you 800 rounds a second based on government arguments in the bump stock case. Reminds me of Buck arguing that voting for the biggest spender is clearly supporting lower spending. dazzler like.
I dunno, maybe she wasn't paying full attention and misheard the government's ridiculous claim.
I'm not singling out Justice Jackson for any special mocking here — just the regular amount. Jackson was speaking off the cuff, and everybody makes mistakes doing that. While it's extra unbecoming for a Justice of the Supreme Court to demonstrate such laughable ignorance about a case she's supposed to be hearing with her own ears, the government took its time to prepare its case — they wrote stuff down and everything — and still managed to come up with 600 rounds per second.
Some days I wish firearms could do all the things that gun-grabbers claim they can do.
Do I really want an AR-15 that can fire 800 rounds per second? I mean, assuming I could find a magazine with that kind of capacity? No, obviously. The barrel would melt, the bullets would spray all over the place, and I'm having trouble imagining what would happen when 800 brass cartridges go flying out all over the range in a single second.
In regards to an action taken in the present moment against present law, you are right it's not a valid defense. Lack of action in the present to rectify a legal action taken in the past should not be a crime, regardless of your awareness of the law being changed.
Seems like Justice “I can’t define a woman” and the US attorney are struggling even more than whatever Kavanaugh said that has Leftist Reddit all fired up about. I don’t know what he said because HackyBuck didn’t provide any link or context.
800 rounds a second, and these are the people arguing and deciding on this case?
I can bump fire an AR with my finger and a belt loop. Only congress can pass laws and then be signed by president. This is a made up rule just like BATF's Brace rule that was recently struck down. The process for creating laws can't be shortcut.
There is an old saying "may your enemy always be set on full auto".
Pointing out that I disagreed with Trump on this bump stock ban at the time and still do. It was a knee-jerk decision after a mass shooting that still has so many unanswered questions about it.
Anyhow, definitely was thread worthy since it eventually showed how little Jackson and the US attorney know about guns and how to operate them. These are the people setting and protecting anti-2nd gun laws. I’m guessing Trump hasn’t fired a gun since his military school days and that was probably a bolt-action .223 rifle.
Nothing has ever been answered on Vegas shooting. Having spent many hours and untold amounts of ammo shooting full auto weapons I can tell you bump stocks can not produce the consistency of fire that is on all the video from the Vegas shooting. I knew 2 people that were killed at that shooting several more wounded and a lot more that were uninjured. This pretty feeble looking guy would be hard pressed to fire that many rounds in the 10 minutes. Also looking at the photos from the room I don't see enough brass lying on the floor. This whole thing stinks to high heaven and yet we still don't know shit!
Don't give an inch. The bump stock is just a ruse. I really don't care if it was banned or not in a fair world. The problem is that if gun owners concede that which may be a fair point, they get nothing in return from the left as part of "common sense" gun control. It's just on to the next thing to ban to get guns out of the hands of law abiding Americans. They have no interest in enforcing gun laws in the inner city. Blacks killing blacks is just a distraction from the main event.
ATF said that if you kept the brace after changing your gun from a braced pistol back to a legal pistol they would consider it a crime. So if I own a hacksaw are all my rifles and shotguns short barreled and illegal?
One thing you don't have to worry about is the dems sending ATF door to door to check on you without a warrant. We can put that conspiracy theory to bed.

Seemed to work for Hillary Clinton ignoring a subpoena and deleting 33,000 emails from an illegal private server.

Ban on all bump stocks. I dont have an opinion on this, just can only shake my head at the Westlinn moron type comment!!!
