I'm not quite there yet. I was convinced there was no reason to get rid of sark because woody would screw up the hire. So I was shocked and excited when he didn't.
I like what I have read so far, but I need to LIFPO a little while longer.
I mocked Sark from day 1 (Free PUB!), but also wanted to see what the first year or two would bring. It didn't take long for me to realize we had a turd on our hands.
It's the opposite with Petersen, I like what he is doing, but I do need to see some results. My judgement of Petersen will be the same as for Sark, which was the same for Rick. Scoreboard baby!
As a #TCUSuperiorityGuy, I'm admittedly not a huge Boise fan ... it was very easy from a distance to pop off about what Boise did and how they won ... however, they did win often and even in situations where I felt TCU had better talent than Boise, they always found a way to at worst stay in a game or at best win the game.
I started turning my tune just a bit on Boise after the Vegas Bowl because we had no business losing to them (see the game 9 months later), but we were clearly out coached and Boise's execution of the details was night and day different.
The more that you see of Petersen, the more you realize that there's a damn good reason he's been 92-12 and that when you look at the 12 there's a reason why many of those games were close losses. When you think about it, in no more than 5% of the games that he's ever coached has he been in a position where you could argue that his team was plungered. If he loses, he's in the game in the 4th quarter with a chance to win. In comparison, Seven would get plungered at least 3x a year to the point that he was as wide open as a glory hole.
It's nice to be doogish with a reason. It's nice to have an expectation that we're going to win fucking football games. It's nice to be back in the mindset that it's ok to be pissed if we lose. I like having expectations. This season will be fun. My sweatpants say so.

Great post and I completely agree about Petersen. I think it's time to start dooging it up again. It's not 2013, there's no fucking shame in it anymore. As a fan with a pulse you need to back a coach at some point so you may as well get behind Petersen, because even if he does somehow fuck this up, could you still argue with the initial hire? Honestly, the skepticism of Petersen at this point appears to be a mix of jealously and illogical casual fan bullshit. The program felt different from the moment that that recruiting class was put together after a mere month and half, along with subsequent changes to the program.
On 1080 those dipshits were saying that "Husky fans are here. Ohhhh yeah, they're here. They're just hiding lol." Fuck that noise, we have a great chance to be an excellent balanced run team, and apparently since fucktards like SI think the Beavs will be ahead of us and no one in Eugene will give us a shot to win down there, it's time to start curbstomping people again.
You mother-fers. I'm gonna have to double up on the blood pressure meds cause you guys are getting me jacked! Race, will the wife be ok with mo more long walks in the park?
You came full circle Race, we both agree, this is not a cheap paint job to the front porch. I honestly had come to believe I would not live long enough to witness the Dawgs in another rose Bowl.

Having expectations means you're an entitled dooghole. - PDXDuckFan. Also, tl;dr.
I've seen just about big name coach present because I used to live at clinics and conventions in the off season. Part of it was wanting to get better as a coach, the other part to bang strange.
Out of everyone I've ever seen Peterman's "Bronco Football" presentation is the only time I've ever truly been impressed other than Mike Bellotti before Coleen derailed him and the family. Obviously Pete is an understudy of HoF Mike.
I don't think he does anything crazy this year with around 9 wins, but I'm going to be worried as he rolls into his third and fourth seasons. Being honest I would have been a lot happier to have the Ducks hire Pete over the tater eater they have now.

Now I will go read it.

Not Tailgater old, but pretty fuckin' crusty.
Still, that was a solid poast - and I agree.
