Interstate Bridge is now 107 years old and what should have been a shovel ready infrastructure job during the last big recession in 2008 is still a hot mess. Plenty of borrowed money for Ukrainian pensions but the bridge is still hostage to the greens who don't want a new bridge and certainly not one that actually has more ability to transport freight and people in ICE autos. Almost a hundred years ago a broke ass US could build Hoover and Grand Coulee Dams and a Golden Gate Bridge in just a few years. Today, a bridge is just too complex.

I had no idea that Booty Juice was still Trans Sec. They mothballed him as soon as it became apparent he’s an idiot and has no charisma.
Related to the bridge, at this point it’s obvious DC is completely beholden to global interests and we citizens are a necessary nuisance to fund part of their scams.
Feds don't want an auto-centric bridge. I'm sure they'd be happy to put billions into high-speed rail for that crossing, though. Easier to control the flow of people that way.
Central control. I have a friend I worked with in the past who left Lithuania in 1991 for the USA. He said growing up there would be periods of unrest due to shortages of basic necessarities, but Moscow controlled the power grid and after a week or so of no power things would calm down for a bit until the next uprising. That’s the plan for all totalitarian governments. Guess what happens to the EVs when the power grid isn’t working? Can’t really store electricity in any sustainable way as you can save up barrels or oil and gasoline. Biden. Some Democrats are even banning gasoline-powered electricity generators and morons think it’s to save the environment.
Like trying to take away guns from Americans and telling us they are concerned about inner city black gun deaths.
