One and done is the game now. Fully expect it and when they stick around for a couple two or three seasons be happy.

The era of a coaching staff working through different evolutions of the game and adjusting their craft accordingly, and developing players over four years, is so far behind us now that I can barely believe it was ever the case.

Generally agree with @creepycoug, but there are notable exceptions. Guys in situations like Kirby Smart are going nowhere. They’re building dynasties and coaching trees. Like Saban did at Bama. There used to be a greater number of situations that lent themselves to this but beginning with the BCS, college football began a slow death march towards NFL lite. Mercenary coaching staffs will be in vogue for the foreseeable future for most programs that want to compete in today’s environment.
